July 23rd was kid's day at Renton River Days , so mom took the day off and headed with the boys down to Liberty Park for the festivities.
Maybe next year? Jonah could barely peek over the "Coal Miner Cutout". This was part of the Renton Historical Museum booth. Renton started out as a mining town, thus "Coal Creek".
Jonah got to make his own toy, tie -dye a bandana, enter a coloring contest as well as play lots of kid- carnival type games.
Of course a highlight from last year was the Renton Fire Department, and Jonah was pretty excited to be in the drivers seat this year.
Waiting for his turn.
Ahhh, Yah..back in the saddle.
My turn is over so fast.
Smug grin to hide excitement...
He flashes his new badge.
Working the fire hose.
Gus, disregarding any caution tape and all safety cones...
Parker, Kassidy and Jonah checking out how far the hose can reach
Parker's turn.
Jonah and Parker in the Bouncy toys... they would stand in line, bounce, get out and get back in line!
Jonah getting a motorcycle painted on his face.
Kassidy and Parker waiting for their turns
Gus's favorite exhibit, the big pile of junk you hit with a drumstick.
He was so excited to play.
Seriously, he could not stay away.
We headed to Jones park to play and then Common Grounds, a downtown Renton cupcake shop for an afternoon treat.
Needless to say, it is a family friendly place and our chocolate mint mini cupcakes were not bad...
The pile of exhaustion at the end of the day...it was fun!
