When trees explode...that is at least what is sounds like. It is the crack of the branch, "whoosh" as it falls and then impact - when you hear the sound effect produced by the shell of ice on top of snow. It sounds like someone beating on an aluminum can. The kids ask when they can go outside...
I tell them when the sky stops falling....
Totally encased in ice...they get heavy.
This is a picture of our neighbor's serene willow tree, as captured yesterday in the snow...
And... then crack... whoosh.....BAM!
Gone.
It hit the neighbor's house, broke their swing set and hit a portion of our fence... nobody hurt.
On a lighter note, we left our cups out in the ice storm and now they are totally encased.
Check out the ice on the straw.
